Love is an ultimate example of yin & yang philosophy:
If you are in love with someone enough, you are willing to ACCEPT THEM for who they are, flaws and all.
If you are in love with someone enough, you are willing to CHANGE who YOU are, to address flaws and become a better, more worthy person...
This goes both ways; two people loving each other and accepting each other as they are, yet at the same time loving each other ENOUGH to be willing to actually do something FOR the other... Yin & Yang...

I have revisited this image's original file as many as twenty times over the years, and have printed it innumerable times. I believe that I have finally arrived at a satisfactory "version" of my vision and memory of that exciting moment... Deep shadows, a bright moon, a "wedge" of pink glow on the horizon... (one of my favorite things in nature, truly a gorgeous sight to discover...) ...And a slight panoramic crop, to help accentuate the ultimate feeling of being in a teeny, tiny corner of such a wide-open world...
Lovingly,

Adventure / outdoor photographers, definitely email me if you think you
can swing a mid-week trip to Zion in three weeks! As much as I'm a
hermit when it comes to landscape photography, having company on the
trip itself would be awesome... We can share nature photography
secrets!

Oh, my goodness, I'd love to go to Zion with you, but... This shot is lovely -- where did you take it?
great take on relationships. i totally agree. super shot too, great PP =) sometimes it takes a lot of work to get a shot to turn into what we remember or imaged it being.
Hey matt.. love the YING YANG theory:)!!
So Matt,
. Umm I have to say though, this is one of my favs =). The colors and framing choice as well as all the shadows and highlights are all extremely impressive. -totally sweet manly high five-
I took some time too take a closer look at this photo and it appears that the sun is clipped in the left side (perhaps from stitching???). Just thought if it was changeable you might want to...

@Balisktic -
Clipped? Do you mean clipped highlights, or clipped physically?
If you're talking about blown highlights, don't worry, the high-res PSD file is perfect. It clips when I output it as a low-quality JPG for my blog.
If you're talking about part of it actually being "clipped" out, well, that's the moon, not the sun, and it is perfectly round, trust me. Just a little bit on the waxing side, not 100% full in this photo... But no, no panorama stitching! That's just one image, cropped...
=Matt=
@MatthewSaville - I ment clipped physically. It just looks like the moon is a little too flat on the left side...>_< oh well I guess I'm just paying too much attention.
.
@Balisktic - Yes, it might be a little flat on the left side, because it's a day or two ahead of being "full"... But it's probably not too far from being perfectly circular, it's just the emphasis of the light itself, and the best edge definition, is on the right...
=Matt=
@MatthewSaville - mmm k.
OMG, this is like a painting of art! soooooo beautiful!
